    Bryant has worked great for us for years. We have a bryant and a Carrier heat pump system (same installer even) and you can’t tell the difference between the two.

    Significantly noisier than my 20 year old Bryant was. Defrost cycle did not keep up well this winter, so unit iced up frequently (still worked though). In fairness, this was one of the worst winters in years.

    They work okay. I have a 4 ton and 5 ton bryant evolution(same as carrier infinity). The compressor of the first went out within five years. Contractor never registered so I had to foot part of the bill. I can’t say as if they are worth the money. I’m in northern PA and they do not work well in the winter.

      We had the same thing happen. The entire copper coil developed leaks! Dead of Summer, 105 degrees and worst air quality in the United States due to forest fires! The installer didn’t register the card. We looked up the UFC Code saying costumers can’t be compelled to register. Doubt we will get very far and my family can’t breathe so we don’t have time to fight up front.

      § 700.7 Use of warranty registration cards.
      (a) Under section 104(b)(1) of the Act, 15 U.S.C. 2304(b)(1), a warrantor offering a full warranty may not impose on consumers any duty other than notification of a defect as a condition of securing remedy of the defect or malfunction, unless such additional duty can be demonstrated by the warrantor to be reasonable. Warrantors have in the past stipulated the return of a “warranty registration” or similar card. By “warranty registration card” the Commission means a card which must be returned by the consumer shortly after purchase of the product and which is stipulated or implied in the warranty to be a condition precedent to warranty coverage and performance.
      (b) A requirement that the consumer return a warranty registration card or a similar notice as a condition of performance under a full warranty is an unreasonable duty. Thus, a provision such as, “This warranty is void unless the warranty registration card is returned to the warrantor” is not permissible in a full warranty, nor is it permissible to imply such a condition in a full warranty.
      (c) This does not prohibit the use of such registration cards where a warrantor suggests use of the card as one possible means of proof of the date the product was purchased. For example, it is permissible to provide in a full warranty that a consumer may fill out and return a card to place on file proof of the date the product was purchased. Any such suggestion to the consumer must include notice that failure to return the card will not affect rights under the warranty, so long as the consumer can show in a reasonable manner the date the product was purchased. Nor does this interpretation prohibit a seller from obtaining from purchasers at the time of sale information requested by the warrantor.

    Our FB4NF036 air handler motor went out in less than 2 years.

    “Purchased this $5,000 unit after sitting with the owner of Powell ac and Heating at our kitchen table who recommended it in January of 2010. Have had five service calls for repair since installation.
    On 7/27/2013 the fan motor stopped working. Was informed that both the seller and manufacturer were aware that the motor would go but chose not to replace it until it actually broke down. As it happened on a saturday, we went three full days in Florida without A/C while they waited until Monday when they ordered the new motor and another two days until they could replace the motor. It was covered under warranty but the labor was not. Cost us 400.00 to replace.
    On 6/17/2014, the unit stopped cooling again. This time the repairman said that there was an “unrepairable leak at Utube top” and that the coils had “moved together” and burned that hole. Of course, the coils are under warranty but the labor and replacing the coolant is going to cost us $1200.00. Every bit of savings you get from a lower electricity bill will be lost on repairs to these defective units.
    On 12-24-2014, the unit was not cooling. Called Powell and was told that this time, it was a “leak on the reversing valve” and that once again, $1200 would need to spent for the repair and to replace the coolant – which has JUST BEEN REPLACED 6 MONTHS EARLY.
    As I write this, it is 90 degrees in my house on July 9th 2016 in Florida. The X13 Fan Motor – that was replaced in July of 2013 – has gone out again – less than three years later. Happening on a Friday, and with the Bryant/Carrier supplier closed until Monday – the part WILL NOT EVEN BE ORDERED UNTIL MONDAY. NO ESTIMATE given of how long until received and replaced.
    DO NOT BUY A CARRIER/BRYANT HEAT PUMP.

      Had the same problems but this time they said the parts are no longer available. So now they want to sell me a new one. They say it will be an up grade but at the age of the unit it’s crazy. I will not own another bryant they just don’t last .

    Did not put a price value. The system came with the new home I purchased five years ago. Within the first two years numerous relays and compacitors needed to be replaced. Then 15 months ago when the owner of the service company could not correct a problem, he replaced the heat pump. Also the air handler fan motor has been replaced twice, the second time was today 5/31/17. I am wandering what is next with this system.

    Bought my house in June of 2015. The unit that was here was 1 year old that April. In August of 2015 the blower motor went out. It was under warranty but I had to pay the service/labor costs, $160.00. Now it’s June of 2018 and the unit started to make noises. Warranty ran out in April. Serviceman came out and said it was leaking. He checked it out and the coil had a small leak.$1800.00 for a new coil. He shot it with juice and then it ran for a few days then totally died. He injected a fluid to help dry the lines, seal the leak and shot the juice in again. The unit ran for 1 day then it stopped. It froze up. It blows cold air for all of a few minutes then stops. I contacted Carrier and they contacted the local sales rep for my area. That was 3 weeks ago. My serviceman is wonderful. He let me use a window unit that has helped. It’s almost July in Florida and my AC is dead on my carport after I have invested $400.00 for juice. If I could give this no stars I would. These are throw away systems. The old window unit is working great. Thanks Frigidaire.

    I purchased a Bryant 2 ton split system back in 1993. I had to replace both the inside and out side electronic boards, inside transformer, blower motor, and accum. I had to replace the comp/fan capacitor 2 times and the compressor start relay 2 times. I have only had to put Freon in 1 time when accum sprung a leak. This thing has lasted 26 years and still going!!!! When it dies I hope my next heat pump last as long!
